A day in the life of a mom of 5

I wanted to kind of run down just an average day of mine. It gets a little crazy around here at times but some how we always seem to get it done. We wake up the 4 younger kids around 6:30. We lay all clothes, shoes, book bags and etc out the night before that way we are not wasting time dong all this in the mornings. I try hard to make our mornings go by pretty easy. It literally makes or breaks how our day turns out. The kids get ready on their own with the exception of the youngest, Tanner. With the problems that he has I really have to stay on top of him. He gets side tracked way to easy. We try to be out the door by 7:15. I take the 4 kids to 3 different schools so it is quiet a commute. Once I have all the kids at school I return home to get the oldest up and off to college. By the time all this is complete it usually 8:30. This is when I try to get my house work, dinner, or errands done without kid interruptions. I leave to get the two younger kids from school at 2:30. We return home and have a snack and start homework or studying for any kind of test they may have. My daughter who is in middle school goes to gymnastics from 4 to 5:30. So When she gets off the bus I take her to he class and then pick up my daughter in high school from softball practice. We come home eat dinner and I try to help the girls with their homework. At this point its time to take the two younger boys to basketball practice til 7:30. Once we get home its bath time for the 5 kids. Then we get all the things ready that they will need for the next school day. By this time it is usually the younger boys bed time so teeth are brushed and they are in bed by 9:30. The girls are in bed by 10:30. Once a week we have family night which we may watch a movie, play games, or make crafts. We usually decide on Sunday evening. Every Saturday my middle daughter has modeling school an hour away for 3 hours at a time. I plan plan plan everything, and try to be as organized as possible. One important thing that I live by and have for 19 years of being a mom is to be consistent. Keeping your kids on a schedule is important. They grow up knowing yes you have to bath everyday, yes you have to brush your teeth everyday, yes you have to go to bed on time, and so on. It doesn't give any room for the kids to try and push you against the rules. I am not saying this may work for your family but it has done wonders for mine and I do believe it has kept me sane for the last 19 years. I hope you find some of my everyday life of some help to you and your family.
